BENEFITS OF MEDITATION
“MEDITATION IS A JOURNEY FROM SOUND TO SILENCE, FROM
MOVEMENT TO STILLNESS, FROM LIMITED IDENTITY TO UNLIMITED SPACE.”
- Sri Ravi Shankar
Meditation is really a journey where you experience lots of mindfulness
experiences away from your daily life chaos. Meditation is the highest state of relaxation. It has a long history of use for increasing calmness and physical relaxation, improving psychological balance, coping with illness, and
enhancing overall health and well-being. Mind and body practices focus on
the interactions among the brain, mind, body, and behavior. The moment we enter into meditation, every muscle, cell, and nervous starts relaxing. There are many types of meditation, but most have four elements in common: a quiet location with as few distractions as possible; a specific, comfortable posture (sitting, lying down, walking, or in other positions); a focus of attention (a specially chosen word or set of words, an object, or the sensations of the breath); and an open attitude (letting distractions come and go naturally without judging them).
Benefits of meditation on the body
Many studies have investigated meditation for different conditions, and
there’s evidence that it may reduce blood pressure as well as symptoms of
irritable bowel syndrome and flare-ups in people who have had ulcerative
colitis.
Meditation is helpful for these conditions:
- It is helpful for body pain.
- Reduces chronic pain such as Sciatica, Migraine, etc
- It is helpful in maintaining blood pressure levels.
-It is helpful in digestion and bowel movement.
-Enhances Immunity.
While meditation is already popular among individuals, corporations are also
trying to imbibe a culture of mindfulness and well-being, only to increase more productivity, enhance creativity and reduce the employee’s stress
levels. Organizations such as Apple, Google, Yahoo, Nike, Procter &
Gamble, HBO, etc are a few names that provide their employees with
meditation classes, special breaks for meditation, designated spaces for
them to do meditation and even hire experts to teach meditation to their
teams.
Benefits of meditation on the mind
Relaxation and Freedom from stress bring strong circulation to every

foreign substances. It brings fresh oxygen and nourishment to that part
resulting in Regeneration and Health.

- Increases the Sense of Well-Being
- Improves interpersonal relationships
- Brings inner peace and calmness
- Makes you more Creative
- Improves your ability to make decisions.
All the functions of the body improve tremendously, increasing true
hunger, digestion circulation, elimination, oxygenation, etc, eventually
leading to good health.
Meditation is a term makes people sometimes very uncomfortable as they
feel that it’s too difficult to concentrate or to “quiet our mind”; it is only
difficult till you don’t try it. And science has also proven that even if you
feel that you’ve not done anything during your meditation or you were not
able to “quiet your mind” and it was only wandering, you still have made an
impact in your brain and those 10–15 minutes haven’t gone waste.
